Remote Outreach

Our latest mission journey took the DPM-Cambodia team deep into the rural landscape of Prey Veng province in southeastern Cambodia. The province stretches along the east bank of the Mekong River, bordering Vietnam to the south and is about a two-hour drive east of the capital, Phnom Penh.  This time, our calling led us further out than usual—to a remote area largely untouched by modern conveniences.

Stepping Out in Faith: The Cost of the Frontier‍

With very few places to stay, our team checked into a humble, rustic guesthouse. We faced a broken toilet, swarms of mosquitoes, worn-out towels, and the unmistakable threat of bedbugs. In the mission field, comfort is secondary. We stood together, declared the protection of the Lord over our bodies and minds, and chose to rest in His peace. Miraculously, despite the environment, the Lord granted us deep, refreshing sleep, preparing our hearts and bodies for the intensive days ahead.

A Warm Welcome Amidst the Rice Fields

The next morning, we drove another 30 minutes down narrow dirt roads, winding through vibrant green rice fields. As the dust cleared, we arrived at the church to an incredible sight: a large group of local pastors, waiting eagerly with bright smiles on their faces.

The warmth of their welcome washed away all the fatigue of our travels. Without hesitation, these village leaders jumped in to help our team carry boxes of Derek Prince teaching materials into the sanctuary. We had planned and prepared for an audience of 55 pastors, but word had spread—63 dedicated leaders arrived, hungry for spiritual nourishment.

Laying the Foundation for Local Ministry

We opened the seminar by lifting our voices in praise and worship, inviting the Holy Spirit to lead the sessions and reveal the living Word to everyone present.

This seminar focused heavily on the foundational truths of believers. Our team was thrilled to teach the dynamic series, Laying the Foundation, covering four critical topics:

  1. Through Repentance to Faith
  2. Faith and Works
  3. The Authority and Power of God's Word
  4. Founded on the Rock

To ensure these truths took root, we broke into small discussion groups. The pastors spent quality time studying the Word together, reflecting on the teachings, and praying over one another’s ministries.

"These DPM books are more than just reading materials; they are highly practical, accessible tools that these local pastors can instantly implement to feed and guide their own house churches and congregations."

Testimonial

My name is Pastor Noun Si, and I serve as a pastor in Prey Veng province.  This morning I had the privilege of attending the Derek Prince Ministries Cambodia seminar. During our group discussion, we studied the book, Founded on the Rock. The teaching deeply encouraged me because it reminded me that a life built on Jesus Christ is not free from storms, but it will stand firm through every storm.  After my family accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior, we faced many painful trials.

Our first great tragedy was the loss of our two-year-old son, who accidentally drowned. It was one of the most heartbreaking moments our family has ever experienced.

Later, another of our sons suffered from meningitis. I spent months caring for him, and by God's grace, He spared his life.

A few years later, two of my other sons were involved in a serious traffic accident. One lost his life, while the other was severely injured.  Then, when three of our children came to Phnom Penh to continue their studies, all three of their motorcycles were stolen.

During those difficult years, my wife sometimes asked God, "Why are these things happening to our family when we faithfully serve You, pray, and attend church regularly?"  Although we did not understand God's ways, we never gave up our faith in Jesus Christ. And God never abandoned us. He faithfully provided for our family, strengthened us through every trial, and gave us peace even in our deepest sorrow.  The book Founded on the Rock reminded me that Jesus never promised a life without storms. He promised that those who build their lives on Him will not be shaken when the storms come.

Looking back today, I realize that our family is still standing—not because we are strong, but because our lives are founded on the Rock, Jesus Christ. He has been our strength, our provider, and our unshakable foundation through every season of life.

I thank Derek Prince Ministries Cambodia for this timely seminar. It has strengthened my faith and reminded me that no matter how fierce the storms may be, those who build on the Rock will remain standing.

Looking Forward

The seed of the Word has been firmly planted in Prey Veng. As these 63 pastors return to their villages, their lives and ministries have been lifted up, anchored securely on the Rock.

Thank you for your continued prayers and financial partnership. Your support keeps our team safe on the road, protects us in the field, and allows us to put vital spiritual resources directly into the hands of the leaders who need them most.
